Gum Shields

Gum shields MUST be worn for all training sessions and matches. They help protect your teeth and reduce the risk of concussion should you bang your head. They can be bought either at Argos or the sports shop on Murray street. Your dentist can also custom fit gum shields.

Match and Training Cancelled- Sun 30th Nov.

The match today against Brechin and training have been cancelled , due to the low temperature the ground is too hard.

If anyone has sponsorship money either bring it down today ( Sunday ) at 10.00 to Union Park or give it to Lisa at training on Tue night.

Training Fees

£1.00 subs are due each training session. Please give this to Lisa. There will not be any match fees.

Juniors run to Murryfield in the snow.

Well done to everyone who took part in today's race to Murrayfield. With great enthusiasm from players, coaches and parents the total distance covered exceeded the necessary 330 laps of Union Park, despite the snowy conditions.

Two professional players from Edinburgh Rugby, Sean Crombie and Andrew Turnbull, came to Montrose to encourage the runners and they joined in a game of ‘touch’ rugby after everyone had finished.

Stuart Ross, the newly appointed Angus Rugby Development Officer, also joined in the day and commented on how impressed he was with the club.

Those of you who still have sponsorship money please give it to Lisa on Tuesday.

S1/2 Success

The S1/2 squad had matches against Brechin and Carnoustie today . Despite the squad only having ten players available and additional players being drafted in from the visiting clubs for both of their games, the quality of the rugby was first class and Montrose came out convincing winners in both games.

Don't forget to start gathering your sponsors for the Montrose Junior Rugby race to Murrayfield on Sunday 23rd November. Whether it is relatives, friends or workmates, make sure they complete the gift aid details if they are a UK tax payer.
The sponsored run / walk is not limited to players. If brothers, sisters, family of friends want to take part, they are most welcome. The more we have, the greater the likelihood that we collectively cover the distance to Murrayfield.
To support the day, Edinburgh Rugby has promised to send along one of their pro-players. When we have more details, we will let you know.

S1/ 2 Sunday training started.

Today marked another step for junior rugby in Montrose. S1/2 's are now training every Sunday from 11.00 to 12.00 at Union Park. Newcomers always welcome. For more details contact Lisa on 01674 840545.

Sunday Training Confirmed.

Going forward their will be S1/2 training on Sundays from 11.00am to 12.00pm at Union Park, Montrose.

If any other secondary age players want to come along they are very welcome - especially newcomers.
